    ARCO/Murray National is currently looking for a Lead Electrical Engineer to join our team based in Downers Grove.  The Electrical Engineer will be responsible for identifying project requirements related to electrical scope and leading the development of basic electrical system designs in support of design/build projects that will include Entertainment, Multi-Family, Industrial, Commercial, and Mission Critical facilities.  In addition, the Electrical Design Manager will be responsible for hiring, training, and managing a team of Electrical Designers as workflow demands.

    • Assist in business development activities and preliminary electrical designs in pursuit of design/build projects across several project-types
    • Responsible for design and specifications of power and control systems, system layouts, load calculations, equipment sizing and selection, performing calculations of lighting systems, and associated controls for assigned projects
    • Work with project teams in purchasing building electrical systems and components directly (light fixtures, electrical gears, electrical equipment, fire alarm systems)
    • Review MEP systems designed by others and work with code officials and contractors to ensure compliance with local standards/guidelines
    • Interface with clients, contractors, and vendors on technical issues
    • Assist in development of electrical pre-fabrication efforts
    • Review shop drawings and other vendor documentation for conformity with specifications
    • Participate in budgeting, scheduling, and staff management
    • Provide electrical design direction and resource management on multi-discipline projects
    • Act in a manner of integrity that shows support for the company, its values, and the employees, while maintaining constant focus on meeting/exceeding customer requirements and expectations


    • Preferred experience working for a design/build electrical contractor
    • BS in Electrical Engineering; with minimum of 3.2 GPA
    • Professional Engineer (PE) is preferred; ARCO/Murray will support the pursuit of licensure
    • 5-10 years of experience
    • BIM experience preferred
    • Able to make decisions under tight deadlines
    • Able to organize, plan and manage multiple activities to accomplish desired results
