    ARCO/Murray is currently seeking a highly-motivated and experienced Civil Engineer to join our team here in the Chicago market. This opportunity will play a key role in our design/build process by performing site due diligence, designing & drafting land development concept plans, and guiding our clients through the first steps toward bringing their building to life.

    • Research and collect site-specific information to initiate the land development process and perform site investigative due diligence
    • Design and draft land development concept plans in AutoCAD for commercial and industrial uses
    • Prepare schematic site plan, grading, and utility plans to illustrate site developability based on learned constraints
    • Perform stormwater detention analysis, site utility design, earthwork analysis to best inform site planning effort for cost and constructability
    • Meet with internal and external customers to review concept plans, discuss advantages to multiple approaches, and work to define direction of project with Design/Build contracting team


    • BS in Civil Engineering or other Engineering or Design discipline
    • 3-6 years of engineering and land planning experience
    • Experience creating AutoCAD Civil 3D templates and styles is a plus
    • Ability to perform stormwater detention analysis and site utility design calculations independently.
    • Ability to read and understand local zoning codes, stormwater management codes, FEMA floodmaps, FWS wetland maps, record civil and survey drawings
    • Experience using SITEOPS and Rhino, or other dynamic software or coding experience is a plus, not required
    • Experience performing earthwork calculations and quantifying site utility spoils is a plus
    • Professional Engineer (PE) license is a plus but not required. ARCO/Murray will support the pursuit of licensure for EIT and offer a $5,000 bonus for successful competition of PE license
