The ideal candidate will have 5-20 years of experience performing a variety of tasks to support one or more major concrete projects at any given time. Experience with Tilt-up (tilt-wall) concrete construction considered a major plus.

    Responsibilities

    The Concrete Superintendent is responsible for directly managing the construction and administrative activities associated with the concrete operations of a project. 

    • Attend the post award review meeting to receive project information and details for preplanning prior to construction.
    • Participate with the project manager in preparing a schedule of concrete construction activities.
    • Coordinate with the Superintendent to ensure safety, quality control and schedule.
    • Assure that adequate manpower is provided as required to meet construction schedules.
    • Analyze construction equipment requirements and provide necessary equipment as required to utilize manpower efficiently, and release equipment when not required.
    • Direct all subordinates in promptly supplying all required accounting data, conforming to all company accounting and administrative procedures.
    • Remain cost conscious and aware of every aspect of the project at all times.
    • Inform all supervisors and subcontractors promptly of any construction schedule changes.
    • Assist in the preparation of all job progress and cost reports to accurately reflect actual costs.
    • Ability to communicate effectively with everyone involved in the project.
    • Cooperate with the general contractor and his representatives, keeping them informed of construction progress.
    • Direct adherence to the company’s safety program in all phases and areas of the project.
    • Become familiar with all company policies and adhere strictly to them in all activities and dealings and require all employees to be aware of them and conform to them in their activities.

    Qualifications

    • 5-20 years experience performing a variety of tasks to support one or more major concrete projects at any given time. Tilt-up concrete and cast in place wall experience considered a major plus. 
    • Able to make decisions under tight deadlines.
    • Ability to organize, plan and manage multiple activities to accomplish desired results.
    • Demonstrated leadership skills with ability and willingness to face challenges, direct others, and effectively address conflict.
    • Act in a manner of integrity that shows support for the company, its values, and the employees, while maintaining constant focus on meeting/exceeding customer requirements and expectations.
    • Computer skills: proficiency using Word, Excel, Outlook
