The ideal candidate will have 3-10 years of related payroll experience. In-house payroll experience considered a plus. This individual will be responsible for data entry of weekly payroll for approximately 200 associates.

Responsibilities

  • Process weekly & bi-weekly payroll for union and non-union employees.
  • Balance weekly/bi-weekly reports associated with the processing of payroll.
  • Process and file weekly, monthly, and quarterly payroll taxes.
  • Monitor PTO (paid time off).
  • Transmit 401K to provider.
  • Transmit HSA.
  • Handle W2 process.
  • Research and resolve any tax notices.
  • Track guaranteed bonus payouts.
  • Process bonus and shareholder distribution checks.
  • Enter and ensure accuracy of all withholding orders, garnishments and tax levy’s.
  • Assist controller in setting up new withholding states.
  • Process labor related job cost transfers.
  • Process verifications of employment.
  • Conduct detailed audits, including biweekly audits of payroll payments, quarterly tax audits and year-end processing audits.
  • Work with employees to answer all payroll-related questions.
  • Assist payroll manager with various projects.
  • Maintain payroll files.

Qualifications

  • Must be able to maintain a high level of confidentiality.
  • 3-10 years of related experience, prior in-house payroll experience considered a plus.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Knowledge of state reciprocity, W2’s, and withholding taxes required.
  • Previous experience with multi-state payroll taxes preferred.
  • Must be customer service oriented.
  • Excellent analytical skills with a strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Precise with data entry.
  • Have a team player attitude.
  • Ability to prioritize workload to meet processing deadlines.
  • Able to work in fast paced environment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel.
  • Possess strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently, multi-task, and demonstrate strong critical thinking and problem solving skills.
  • Prior union payroll experience considered a plus.
  • Familiarity with UltiPro software considered a plus.
